Google Meet introduced an option to Use a phone for audio in a Hangouts Meet video call in Feb 2020. Participants can dial-in to the Meeting or request a dial-out (or call me) as an alternative for audio.
Admin Console also provides an option to disable the phone information per organizational unit (OU), in Apps > G Suite > Settings for Google Meet > Meet video settings > Telephony > Provide a phone number and PIN for each video meeting (a checkbox). When this checkbox is unchecked, Google Meet created under the OU does not show dial-in phone information.
Nonetheless, the control is not ideal for educational institutes.
- If this option is set to OFF for your teachers, every meeting your teachers created does not include the dial-in phone info. It impedes your teachers' communication to other staffs.
- The Dial-out option is not completely disabled. Your students still are able to misuse this feature to call random numbers and invite strangers into the call.
This article explains how Safe Doc completely disables both dial-in and dial-out options in your students' Google Meet. Safe Doc disable these features without restricting your teachers' Google Meet.

What's the change in Google Meet?
There are a few spots to access the dial-in and dial-out features. Safe Doc removes all of them so your students cannot use those features.
In the Google Meet 'waiting room', you will find the option Join and use a phone for audio. This button brings up the dial-out feature and dial-in phone information (if not disabled in the Admin Console).
Within the session, click the meeting on the bottom left, the meeting details reveals the dial-in information.
On the bottom bar, click the 3 dot, the popped menu has a menu item Use a phone for audio. This item brings up the dial-in and dial-out dialog above.
How to set up in Safe Doc?
First of all, make sure you have deployed Safe Doc and read Safe Doc Configuration.
Then set the policy BlockMeetPhoneInfo to true in the Safe Doc extension policy configuration. Add the policy if you don't have the policy.
"BlockMeetPhoneInfo": { "Value": true }
