Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms and Drawings have a feature to insert image by URL. Some schools concern that students may insert pornographic or disturbing images from unknown link resources.

This article demonstrates Safe Doc removes the inserting image by URL feature in Docs editors as well as in Gmail. If you have yet to install Safe Doc, apply for a 30 days trial.

What's changed?

If you came from Block Image Searching in Google Docs Editors, you will also notice the option of inserting images by URL next to it. Look what it looks like before and after the feature is disabled.

How to get started?

Given that you have deployed Safe Doc and read how Safe Doc Configuration works, blocking the inserting image by URL feature is as simple as adding the policy as below.

{
  "BlockAddImageByUrl": {
    "Value": true
  }
}

Inserting image by URL feature will not be blocked if the policy BlockAddImageByUrl is not set or false.
