Set Up Automation From Scratch
Supported plans: xFanatical Foresight Elite and Professional (Legacy).
- Download the Sample CSV File for automation rule creation. Learn more about Editing CSV Files in Google Sheets.
- Sign into xFanatical Foresight with your Google Admin account.
- Go to the Rules page, and click the
button. - In the Select a trigger screen, select Data Uploaded.
- In the Edit trigger > Data uploaded screen,
- Select the CSV file downloaded in Step 1, and wait until the completion of CSV file analysis.
- Click Next.
- In the Select an action screen, select Update user license.
- In the Edit actions > Update user license screen,
- If you’re using this action for the first time, you will see Sign in with Google button. Click on it, and authorize xFanatical Foresight the necessary permissions to automate on behalf of your Google account.
- In the User email field, select the User email variable from the Data uploaded trigger.
- In the Product Id field, select Google Workspace.
- In the Current SKU Id field, select the respective Current SKU of your organization.
- In the New SKU Id field, select the New SKU for your organization.
- Click Review.
- If you’re using this action for the first time, you will see Sign in with Google button. Click on it, and authorize xFanatical Foresight the necessary permissions to automate on behalf of your Google account.
- In the Review screen,
- Customize the Rule name.
- Click Create.
- Customize the Rule name.
- The automation rule is created.

Verify Automation
To ensure that your rule setup automates as expected, it’s essential to conduct a simple test. The following instructions demonstrate how to bulk update Google Workspace licenses.
Before moving to verification, let’s check the member license details in Google Admin Console. Currently members have Google Workspace Enterprise Plus license, for demonstration purposes let’s update to Google Workspace Essentials Plus license.

- Edit the CSV file downloaded in the automation setup process with your organization user emails. Learn more about Editing CSV Files in Google Sheets.
- Go to the Rules page of xFanatical Foresight.
- Find the Bulk update Google Workspace user licenses rule, and click on the
icon of the rule.
- Upload the file edited in Step 1.
- Wait momentarily, and you will get a notification on the top right of xFanatical Foresight. In the notification message, click View log.
- In the Logs > Log details screen, confirm that the user license has been upgraded.
- Go back to the user page on Google admin console, and confirm that the user license has been upgraded.

- The workflow is applicable to organizations which purchased multiple Google Workspace editions
