How to Change my Foresight Subscription?
Follow the steps below to change your Foresight subscription.
- Sign into Foresight.
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- If you have not a credit card in the Payment Method, click Edit to add a credit card first.
- In the Subscription Plan, click Edit.
- Select your new plan and new billing term. Preview the plan change.
- Click the Schedule or Upgrade or Downgrade button to confirm the plan change. You only see one of three actions. These actions are explained below.
When you need extra monthly action quota and rule quota, you need to upgrade your subscription.
Upgrading your subscription is restricted to the same billing term, namely monthly => monthly or yearly => yearly. Such action will not change your billing cycle.
The upgrading is immediate. Once you click the Upgrade button, you will receive a prorated bill for the upgrading. The new plan will be effective immediately, i.e. more monthly action quota and/or rule quota. The new plan will renew at the end of current billing cycle.
If your accounts demand much less actions, you may downgrade your subscription.
Downgrading your subscription is restricted to the same billing term, namely monthly => monthly or yearly => yearly. Such action will not change your billing cycle.
The downgrading is immediate. Once you click the Downgrade button, you will receive a bill with zero charge for the downgrading. The new plan takes effect immediately, i.e. less monthly action quota and/or rule quota. The new plan will renew at the end of current billing cycle.
Schedule (Change the billing term)
If you need to switch to a different billing term, namely monthly => yearly or yearly => monthly, the plan change has to be scheduled for the end of current billing cycle.
Example 1. If you switch from a monthly billing to a yearly billing at June 16, 2020 (the current billing cycle is June 1 - June 30, 2020), the subscription update will be scheduled at the end of June 30. The rest of current billing cycle June 16 - June 30 keeps the original plan.
Example 2. If you switch from a yearly billing to a monthly billing at June 16, 2020 (the current billing cycle is May 1, 2020 - Apr 30, 2021), the subscription update will be scheduled at the end of Apr 30, 2021.
No bills are generated for setting up the subscription update schedule.
Upgrading or downgrading the current plan is not allowed when a subscription update schedule is attached. Instead, you need to delete the schedule first, apply upgrading or downgrading, and reschedule.
Cancel the scheduled subscription update. A subscription update schedule can be cancelled in the same Billing page before a new billing cycle starts. Deleting the subscription update schedule won't impact your existing plan. Your existing plan will renew and function as usual.
How Proration works
An one-time prorated bill occurs when you upgrade the subscription plan in the same billing term.
For upgrading between monthly billing plans, the prorated bill is the monthly price difference. For example, if you upgrade from Professional 1000 ($10/month) to Professional 5000 ($38/month) in June 18, the prorated price for the remainder of billing cycle (June 18 - June 30) is $28.
If you upgrade from the free Lite 150 plan, Lite 150 is equivalent to a $1.5 credit used in the proration.
For upgrading between yearly billing plans, the prorated bill is (the number of unfinished months) * (yearly price difference) / 12. For instance, you have a yearly billed plan Professional 1000 ($110/year) with billing cycle May 1, 2020 - Apr 30, 2021. Now you upgrade the plan to Professional 5000 ($418/year) at June 18, 2020. The prorated bill is (11 month) * ($418/year - $110/year) / 12 = $282.33, for the rest of billing cycle June 18, 2020 - Apr 30, 2021.
