Introduction
In this blog post you will learn how to efficiently block or restrict someone from using your Google Calendar booking page with xFanatical Foresight. Managing appointments efficiently is crucial for professionals and businesses. Google Calendar’s booking pages offer a seamless way to schedule appointment meetings in advance with flexibility of choosing different availability timing. However, ensuring privacy and security is very important, especially when you need to block users from your Google Calendar booking page or restrict access to your Google Calendar booking pages. Unauthorized users gaining access to your booking page can lead to scheduling conflicts, privacy concerns, and misuse of your time.

Verify Automation
To ensure that your rule setup functions correctly, it’s crucial to perform a simple test. The steps outlined below demonstrate how xFanatical Foresight automates the process of auto-blocking someone from using your Google Calendar booking page.
Note: For demonstration purposes, create one sample booking appointment schedule and book an appointment from a restricted account which was added in IF action during rule setup.
- The rule will be triggered upon booking from the booking appointment schedule invitation.
- Once the rule is triggered, you will get a notification on the top right of xFanatical Foresight. In the notification message, click View log.
- In the Logs > Log details page, the Rule history section explains the automation history and task xFanatical Foresight has automated on behalf of your Google account.
Notes
- The automation rule will be triggered only when a booking is made through your appointment scheduling page, not immediately after the rule is created.
- Restricted users can book appointments from the booking page, but this automation immediately deletes those appointments, making the booking appear unsuccessful.
- This automation supports monitoring new events across multiple calendars, eliminating the need to create separate automations for accepting invitations from different calendars.
- This automation only blocks users to invitations that are added after the rule is created. It will not add buffer times for past events, events more than one year in the future, or private events.
- If Google account permissions have been revoked, this automation will fail due to insufficient permissions to modify calendar events.
- At each time a rule is executed, you will receive a notification in the app telling you how it has happened to your rules and whether rules ran successfully or not.
Conclusion
Managing access to your Google Calendar booking page is essential for maintaining privacy, preventing unwanted bookings, and ensuring a seamless scheduling experience.
