This article is written for Google Workspace Administrators.

A service account lets your xFanatical Foresight rules act on behalf of users in your Google Workspace domain. Follow below steps to set up a Service Account.

  1. Sign into xFanatical Foresight.
  2. Go to Settings > Security.
  3. In the Service accounts section, click Set up service account. A step-by-step dialog will appear.
  4. Prerequisites check: xFanatical Foresight checks your Google permissions.
    1. If additional permissions are required, click Connect with Google and grant the permissions.
    2. If your Google account is missing one of admin privileges, Users > Read, Domain Management and Reports, contact your Google Workspace Super Admin to assign you the privileges with a custom admin role.
    3. When all prerequisites are met, click Next.
  5. Provisioning: xFanatical Foresight creates a Google Cloud project and a service account, then enables service account access.
    1. If Enable Google APIs step requests for accepting terms for cloud api, click Accept terms of service.
    2. This can take a few minutes to hours. When provisioning is complete, click Next.
  6. Domain-wide delegation: Follow the instructions mentioned in the Domain-wide Delegation tab to complete this step. This step requires a Google Workspace Super Admin to complete.
  7. Review: Wait to complete setup verification, and click Done. 
  8. The service account status is now Ready to use.

Tips

  • You can close the step-by-step dialog at any time with Cancel. Setup continues in the background. Click Resume to return to it.
  • If a step fails, click Retry. Your progress is saved.
  • To abort the setup process, click Abort setup. If you accidentally aborted the setup, click Undo within 10 seconds. After that, the records are deleted and you need to start over.
