This release includes 2 new templates, 1 new action, and service account support, and also brings user interface improvements and fixes several issues to make automations more reliable.

What's New in Foresight 5.0.0?

This release introduces two new ready-to-use templates to simplify Gmail label management.

1. Bulk Add Gmail Labels to All Users

Creating the same Gmail label in every user's mailbox can be time-consuming when administrators need to manage many accounts.
This template helps Google Workspace administrators create a standard Gmail label, such as Restricted or Confidential, in the mailboxes of all users listed in a CSV file. Administrators can configure label visibility and set text and background colours to meet their organisation's needs.

2. Auto Add Gmail Labels to New Users

New employees may need standard Gmail labels from their first day. Creating these labels manually for every new user can add extra work for IT teams.
This template automatically creates the required Gmail labels when a new user is created in Google Workspace. It includes two sample labels, Technical Support and IT Security, which administrators can rename or add to as needed.
This automation helps administrators maintain consistent Gmail label settings during user onboarding, so you don’t have to repeat the work for each new account.

New Action

Create Gmail Label

The new Create Gmail label action allows Google Workspace administrators to create a Gmail label in a specified user's mailbox. Administrators can configure the label name, label list visibility, message list visibility, and label text and background colors. This action can be used in automation workflows to create labels for existing users or new users, helping organizations maintain consistent email organization.

Service Account Support

Foresight now supports service accounts, allowing administrators to run automations on behalf of users in their Google Workspace organization.
This support enables administrators to automate tasks that need to be performed in individual users' accounts, reducing the need for manual work across multiple mailboxes.

New Actor Field

The Create Gmail label action introduces a new Actor field that specifies whose Gmail account the label will be created in.
Previously, administrators needed to ensure that the action targeted the correct account. With the Actor field, administrators can select the intended user so that labels are created in that user's mailbox rather than their own. This makes it easier to automate Gmail label creation for both existing users and newly created accounts.

  • Updated Google Sign-In Button

The Google Sign-In button has been updated to better match Google's branding guidelines, providing a more consistent sign-in experience.

  • Improved Trigger and Action Dropdowns

The headings and options in trigger and action dropdown menus have been better organized, making it easier to find and select the required items when setting up automation rules.

Issue Fixes

This release includes the following fixes:

  • Email action formatting: Fixed multiple indentation issues in emails sent using the xFanatical Foresight Email action.
  • Update group settings action: Fixed an issue that could cause an unknown error when attempting to hide a group from the global directory.
  • Rules page sorting: Fixed an issue where rules were not sorted according to their recent activity.
