Due to the up to 24 hours propagation delay of Google Admin, xFanatical Safe Doc may not behave properly after you make the changes in Google Admin Console. For example, you turned off a policy in Google Admin, but the policy doesn't work in students' devices until a few hours later. This policy delay clouds the configuration.
Follow these steps to verify xFanatical Safe Doc policies synced to a student's Chrome browsers.
- Go to your student's device physically.
- Open Chrome browser.
- Go to chrome://policy. If this URL is blocked, unblock this URL for this student in your Google Admin Console URLBlacklist setting.
- Scroll to the xFanatical Safe Doc section.
- Go through the policy values, and verify whether the policy values are the same as the policies configured in Google Admin Console.
- The Policy name and Policy value columns map to your Google Admin Console policy configuration for xFanatical Safe Doc.
- The Source column indicates the source of the policy. This must be Cloud, meaning the policy is from Google Admin Console.
- The Applies to column indicates the audience of the policy. This must be Current user, meaning the policies are for the signed-in user instead of the device.
- If the policies are out of sync, click Reload policies to force pull the policies from Google Admin Console.
Learn more in Google's documentation about viewing a device's current Chrome policies. If the xFanatical Safe Doc policies are still not updated 24 hours after the change in Google Admin Console, check whether the student is under the right organizational unit, for which you configured the policies.
