Here is a brief overview of what to expect during our hiring process. All interviews will be conducted virtually via Google Meet. We recommend that you arrange a quiet, distraction-free environment with a stable internet connection for your remote interviews.
Step 1 - Initial Interview
The first step in your path is a quick 15-min interview to assess whether you're a potential fit to our position. The interview is to learn your basic information such as your education, skills, work experience and job status. This interview has 1 interviewer.
Step 2 - Technical Interview - Portfolio Review
Technical Interviews do not mean coding or engineering, but rather job-skill interviews.
Following your initial interview, we assess your design skills and knowledge relevant to this role. You will need to share your screen and present 1-2 past projects, and we will walk through your design process. This interview appointment slot is set to 45 minutes. 1 interviewer is in this interview.
Note: The technical interview - portfolio review would be recorded for our teams' further reviews.
Step 3 - Technical Interview - Live Design
After assessing you as a potential candidate, we would like to further assess your UX/UI design skills through a practical exercise, aka whiteboard challenge. This interview appointment slot is set to 60 minutes. Depending on our team's availability, 1-2 interviewers are in this interview. To prevent unforeseen issues, we suggest you to prepare the design environment.
- Ensure a fast and stable internet connection.
- Prepare your favorite design tool, e.g. whiteboard (preferred), wireframing, mockups, prototyping.
- Disable AI-assisted features.
The interview is structured as follows.
- Project setup (10 minutes)
- You share the full screen with the interviewer.
- The interviewer will share a project requirement with you, and explain to you the expectations and constraints.
- You understand the expectations and constraints before the design challenge.
- Design challenge (50 minutes). You will explore the problems, design solutions, discuss key decisions and tradeoffs, and communicate your thinking with the interviewer(s).
Note: The technical interview - live design would be recorded for our teams' further reviews.
Step 4 - Panel Interview
After you demonstrate a strong technical competency, we will notify you to book a 60-min panel interview with 3-4 interviewers. The interview is mostly non-technical. We mainly focus on your soft skills and thinking process to find whether you're a good team and cultural fit to our company.
Note: The panel interview would be recorded for our teams' further reviews.
Step 5 - HR Interview
This is the final 30-min interview to discuss your compensation package and employment terms. Key oral agreements, e.g. salary structure, in the interview will be written to the offer letter.
AI Usage Policy
The use of AI tools during interviews is not permitted. Our interviews are designed to assess you as an individual, and the responses should reflect your own knowledge, skills, and experience, not those generated or assisted by AI. Any use of AI during the interview process will be considered a breach of integrity.
Integrity is a cornerstone of trust within our team and across our company. While AI tools are encouraged and widely used as part of our daily work environment, they are not appropriate for use during interviews. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
